Frequently Asked Questions

How can I bid on items?

You must first click on the desired item to see that item's description on eBay. On that page, scroll down to the bottom to the Bidding Section and place your bid. Note that you must first sign in or create an eBay account before you can bid on or purchase items.

What does "BIN" stand for?

BIN stands for Buy It Now. The little orange BIN indicator informs you that the item can be purchased immediately on eBay for the specified price regardless if there's time remaining in the auction or if customers are still bidding on the item.

Typically, the BIN indicator is found on auction items.

What's with the red-colored date?

The red-colored date means that the listing will expire on the current date (today).

In what time zone are the listing times based?

All listing times are in Pacific Standard Time (PST). Unless you are living on the West Coast, you will have to change the time given to reflect your current local time. Below is a simple strategy to use:

How do I determine an auction item from a non-auction item?

Auction items will have their prices in bold and other indicators such as the number of bids and BIN. Even if the number of bids isn't present (which means there are 0 bids), the BIN indicator will still be shown if available.

Non-auction items, on the other hand, will not have any bids. They typically have a "fixed" price and may or may not have the BIN indicator. The best indicator of non-auction items is the presence of the "Fixed Price" label near their prices.

How do I retrieve "BIN" or Auction items only?

To retrieve auction items only, simply click the Auction tab. Note that all items, including BIN items, are returned in the results.

To retrieve items with the BIN indicator, simply click the "Buy It Now" tab. Both auction items and non-auction items are returned in the results.

What does the "P" indicator mean?

This box indicates that the seller of the item accepts PayPal as a payment option.

Popular items are simply listings that have a good amount of bids. The more bids items have, the more popular they are with potential buyers.
